Already one of the world’s best high performance sedans and wagons, Mercedes-Benz’ C 63 AMG lineup has received technical and visual improvements for 2011.

No changes to the output of the 6.3-litre V8 engine with 336kW on tap (358kW with the optional performance package). However drive is now via an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed automatic transmission.

Combining that gearbox with its ‘Controlled Efficiency’ mode and a new power steering pump has seen fuel consumption drop to 12.0l/100kms.

Underneath, the AMG sports suspension has been re-tuned to deliver even sharper response and increased refinement.

Externally there is a new radiator grille, clear-lens headlights, new airdams and front louvers plus a new aluminium bonnet. At the rear, the latest C 63 AMG boasts a new rear apron with a black, three-fin diffuser and new chrome-tip tailpipes.

There’s also a host of new generation telematics with Bluetooth telephone directory transfer, wireless music reproduction and a center console USB interface amongst the inclusions.
